1979-1987, the first part
"Secret Service" - the legendary Swedish pop group New Wave, formed in 1979.Ola Håkansson, a former vocalist of Ola & The Janglers, and then publishing manager Sonet Music, has teamed up with Tim Norell and Ulf Wahlberg to write a few songs that werepresented at the European Song Festival. They did not win but decided to continue the cooperation and change their group name from "Ola + 3" to "Secret Service.In addition Uly Håkansson (vocals), Tim Norell and Ulf Wahlberg (keyboards), in the original lineup included Tony Lindberg (guitars), Leif Paulsen (bass) and Leif Yuhansson (drums).
Tim Norell however, working together with the lyricist Bjorn Hokanson, and creating most of the songs the group did not appear on stage or on the album covers.Secret Service's first single "Oh Susie" became a hit in Sweden and several other countries in Europe and South America. "Oh Susie" was a hit number 1 in 29 countries.
Named as the album included another hit, "Ten Postman". Great success followed after the "Flash in the Night", which topped the charts all over continental Europe, you can also mention "The Way You Are", a duet with ex-soloist of the group ABBA Agnetha Feltskug.
1987, Member lineup # 21987, the second part
In 1987, Håkansson, Norell, and Wahlberg released "Aux Deux Magots", their sixth album as "Secret Service".Other members of the group had gone to the time and have been replaced by multi-instrumentalist Anders Hansson and bassist Mats Lindberg. Bjorn then Hokanson left the band as a songwriter, and Ula accepted this part of the work itself, together with Alexander Bard. ( "Army Of Lovers").
1988-2000, in the meantime
1988, Håkansson, Norell, and Wahlberg decided to go separate ways.Håkansson continued as a partner Norell together with Anders Hansson, they became known as Megatrio, the Swedish equivalent of the Stock-Aitken-Wateman.In 1992, Håkansson and his associates organized a record company Stockholm Records, a joint venture with Polygram. They produced the well-known artists such as the "Army Of Lovers" and "The Cardigans" among others.
Wahlberg went on to work as a producer, songwriter and was a great success and with Swedish and international artists.He organized his own company XTC Productions in 1989 and successfully began to promote Swedish artists abroad. He also opened his own professional recording studio - XTC Studios.
In 1999, Ula, Ulf and Tim together to record a new compilation with songs of Secret Service, Top Secret -Greatest Hits. The work took place in the studios of XTC, and this has led to record four new songs for the album.
2006 forward, the third composition
At the Secret Service had a lot of fans in the Soviet Union and other Eastern European countries during the "Cold War". In December 2006, before the start of a series of festivals "Disco-80" in Moscow, Ulf and Tim re-gathered a group, however, with the new members.
As for family and business reasons Ula decided not to join the group in the "live" performances and tours.So, together with Mats Lindberg (bass) of the second composition, they invited Mikael Erlandsson (vocals and guitar) and Jamie Borger (drums) join the new composition of the group. Since then, the group has successfully toured throughout Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union in this composition.Size:
